A Gentle, Eco-Friendly Alternative to Flame Cremation
Bio-Cremation (Aquamation), or Alkaline Hydrolysis, is a water-based alternative to flame cremation which returns the deceased pet's body to nature. This gentle process breaks the body tissues down to component amino acids and minerals which are returned to the ecosystem with the water that carries out the process. The result is a completely sterile solution of amino acids, sugars, nutrients, salts, and soap suspended in water. These natural byproducts of decomposition and bone mineral (calcium and phosphorus) are the result of the process. The bone mineral is returned to the family, if desired.
